Ferrari Illegally Resets Odometers, Lawsuit Alleges

Ferrari Illegally Resets Odometers, Lawsuit Alleges Last August, Ferrari salesman Robert “Bud” Root filed a lawsuit against a former client, Steven McMillan, after Root claimed McMillan made comments which caused him to lose his job at Ferrari of Palm Beach in Florida. Root has since returned to his position, but not before alleging that McMillan had requested Ferrari to roll back the mileage showing on his LaFerrari's odometer to zero, thereby increasing the car's value and committing fraud. Furthermore, Root's suit alleges this is a common practice among Ferrari's more well-respected and well-connected clients and their new, digital odometer equipped cars.

Customers on the ground floor choose from a touchscreen display which car they wish to see. The car arrives within one to two minutes thanks to an advanced system that manages vehicle retrieval, the company says.

Gary Hong, general manager at Autobahn Motors, said the vending machine format was aimed at making efficient use of space in land-scarce Singapore as well as standing out from the competition.

"We needed to meet our requirement of storing a lot of cars. At the same time, we wanted to be creative and innovative," he told Reuters.

He has been approached by developers interested in using the company's Automotive Inventory Management System for parking services, he added.

Vehicles on offer run from modern luxury sports cars to classics, including a 1955 Morgan Plus 4.

U.S. company Carvana also uses vending machine-like towers to sell used cars. In March, it opened an eight-floor structure that holds up to 30 cars in San Antonio, Texas.

Diesel engines pollute much more than we thought — and that’s bad for our health .
Diesel cars, trucks, and other vehicles in more than 10 countries around the world produce 50 percent more nitrogen oxide emissions than lab tests show, according to a new study. The extra pollution is thought to have contributed to about 38,000 premature deaths in 2015 globally. In the study, published today in Nature, researchers compared emissions from diesel tailpipes on the road with the results of lab tests for nitrogen oxides (NOx).
