Wrap them in towels, stuff them in the back of the garage closet, and only put them back on when you go to sell the car again.

In an interview with Automotive News Europe, Lamborghini CEO Stefano Domenicali let slip that the standard Urus will make 650 hp from a twin - turbo V - 8 . Lambo hopes the exotic SUV will help it more than double its annual sales. Last year, the sports car maker sold a record 3,457 units.

Lamborghini's plans to build an SUV, nor that vehicle's powertrain offerings, haven't been a secret, but the model's exact power output wasn't known until now. In an interview with Automotive News Europe, Lamborghini CEO Stefano Domenicali let slip that the standard Urus will make 650 hp from a twin-turbo V-8.

Lambo hopes the exotic SUV will help it more than double its annual sales. Last year, the sports car maker sold a record 3,457 units. Lamborghini plans to build 1,000 Urus SUVs next year and ramp up to 3,500 units annually by 2019. But that number could grow if demand is strong enough, Domenicali says. The SUV will debut later this year, according to AN, and will be built at Lambo's factory in Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy.

Countach! It’s a Gold-Plated Lamborghini Countach!

 Countach! It’s a Gold-Plated Lamborghini Countach!
For those of us born in the 1970s, it’s nigh impossible to imagine a world without the Lamborghini Countach in it.
In the 1980s, silver-toned metallic finishes were out. Even the lowly Chevrolet Celebrity got up on the chrome-delete tip with the Eurosport variant. Gold, however, was way in. One might recall that our president first tasted national fame during the decade, and if you really wanted a Countach to pair correctly with your Omega Constellation Manhattan, well, it turns out Sant’Agata was willing to make that happen.

Luca Ciferri Automotive News Europe May 15, 2017 06:01 CET. SANT'AGATA BOLOGNESE, Italy — The new V - 8 twin turbo engine in Lamborghini 's Urus SUV will make 650 hp , CEO Stefano Domenicali said in an interview.

We've known for a while that the Urus would be powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8, and that a plug-in hybrid variant would come later. According to Domenicali, we'll see the hybrid Urus a year after the standard model arrives. AN says the Urus will go on sale in Europe by the second quarter of 2018, with a U.S. market launch following in the third quarter. The Urus will ride on Volkswagen Group's modular MLB platform, which is shared with the Audi Q7 and Bentley Bentayga.

U.S. pricing for the Urus could start at around $200,000. The on-sale date for the production Urus hasn't been announced yet, but once it is you can expect a line of well-to-do prospective buyers to form. Both the Huracan and Aventador have long waiting lists, and delivery can take six months to a year after ordering your Lambo.

New Mercedes-AMG 53 models to pack 430 horsepower turbo inline-six .
The new engine is expected to debut as the Mercedes-AMG CLS53.We're not going to complain that cost cutting and parts sharing with four-cylinder engines brought about the return of the inline-six. Instead, we'll bask in the glory of silky-smooth revs and perfectly balanced combustion. In the S-Class, this new 3.0-liter engine makes 408 horsepower and over 368 pound-feet of torque. That's a significant step up from the already hearty 333 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque developed by the current V6. In AMG guise, the engine is expected to make about 430 horsepower.
