SPIED: 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 in La La Land

SPIED: 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 in La La Land Spied testing recently in Los Angeles was the upcoming Chevrolet Silverado 1500, likely due for the 2019 model year. The redesigned pickup will probably undergo several changes compared to the current truck, including a probable switch to aluminum bodywork, a la the 2015 F-150. We recently spotted the same (or a similar) truck near our El Segundo offices, though we suspected it was a GMC at the time.

Dallara was founded in 1972, and since then it has supplied racing chassis to IndyCar, Formula Three, Formula E, and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Founder Gian Paolo Dallara spoke with Autocar last year and said the company was working on its first road-legal model. Dallara is targeting 800 kg (roughly 1,760 pounds), and we can see in these shots that the car will be very small. This would put it in the same company as the KTM X-Bow and BAC Mono. The car is said to be powered by Ford's turbocharged 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder, which makes up to 350 hp in the Focus RS. Our spy shooter also points out that this mule wears relatively small wheels and tires for a car with such exotic sheetmetal, which could mean it will rely on its massive rear wing and other aero bits for grip.

Spied 2018 BMW i8 Spyder Looks Production Ready

Spied 2018 BMW i8 Spyder Looks Production Ready Years after the arrival of the coupe, the much-delayed BMW i8 Spyder appears to be ready to make its entrance, at least if this prototype that was recently spied cruising German city streets is any indication. Visually, there are a few subtle changes in the grille, side skirts, and rear. Given that the i8 is about due for a facelift, it's not certain if these are specific to the convertible. The key difference is, of course, the roof, which is now made out of a fabric material. It's styled to look more like targa-top than a traditional convertible, with the canvas roof likely sliding beneath the rear cover..One open question are the i8 Spyder's doors.

Spied! Mid-Engine Chevrolet Corvette Caught Track Testing .
It’s been a few months since we’ve heard anything about Chevrolet’s mid-engine Corvette, but these spy shots show the automaker is still hard at work developing the new car. A prototype was recently spotted conducting track testing in full camouflage. The engineers driving the car must have noticed the shooter, as they came to a stop on the track and quickly covered the car which was already well camouflaged. The camo is different from the test mules we spotted earlier this year, and it may be hiding production bodywork. As covered up as this prototype may be, there's no hiding its mid-engine proportions.
