Barely-Disguised Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Caught During Gas Station Run

Barely-Disguised Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Caught During Gas Station Run
Seems like the new super-Vette is getting closer and closer to production
An answer may be on the horizon, though, in the form of this suspiciously camouflaged C7 spotted parked at a gas station. This, presumably, is the new extra-spicy Corvette widely considered to be a new ZR1.

With its supercharged 6.2-liter V8 boasting 755 hp and 715 lb-ft, if this is the C7 grand finale, it certainly is grand. First a little history: The ZR 1 badge (legend has it the ZR stands for Zora -- as in Arkus-Duntov -- Racer) was first seen on C3 Corvettes in 1970.

After months of speculation, the ultimate Corvette is finally here. We have been waiting for months to see what GM had up its sleeve for the ultimate Corvette that would receive the ZR 1 moniker, and we finally got a good look at it when a Road & Track cover accidentally revealed a few images and details

After months of spy photos, rumours, and questions, Chevrolet has just launched a quicker, faster, more powerful Corvette. The supercharged ZR1 gets a power boost and new aerodynamics to make it even more of a weapon on track.

Spied! 2018 Corvette ZR1 Caught With an Automatic Transmission

Spied! 2018 Corvette ZR1 Caught With an Automatic Transmission Last time we caught the 2018 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 out testing, it was being flogged on the Nürburgring. A few days later, we caught it out on the ‘Ring again, this time with extra piping out back to keep its exhaust noise below the 100-decibel limit. This time around, the ZR1 was seen testing in much more pedestrian circumstances and wearing way less camouflage. © Motor Trend Staff As you can see, the camouflage thatis still there doesn't hide much. You can clearly see the aggressive splitter up front, as well as that massive wing out back. Of course, with a wing that large, no amount of camouflage could effectively keep it hidden.

This Is The 755 - HP Chevrolet Corvette ZR 1 . by Jared Rosenholtz 2,575 reads. We weren't joking when we said that Porsche better watch out. This new ZR 1 puts down 755 horsepower and 715 lb-ft of torque from a 6.2-liter supercharged V8.

The Chevrolet Corvette ZR 1 supercar is returning for the 2019 model year, and it is out to present a good challenge. As a result, the new supercharged LT5 engine is able to deliver a whopping 755 hp (563 kW) of max output and 715 lb.-ft. (969 Nm) of peak torque (SAE-rated).

The ZR1 starts with a new LT5 V8. The 6.2L supercharged engine is the highest output engine Chevrolet has ever put into production. It's got a new supercharger with a more efficient intercooler, direct and port fuel injection and 755 hp. That's right, 755 hp.

To go with that power is 715 lb-ft of torque. Transmission choices are a seven-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic. It's the first time that the ZR1 has offered an automatic gearbox choice.

The ZR1 has a new front fascia with bigger intakes that move more air to help cool the drivetrain. There are four extra radiators, which gives the ZR1 a total of 13 heat exchangers. That's more than a Bugatti Chiron, and might be more than any other production car. The halo hood is open in the middle to clear the supercharger and allow more airflow.

Vintage Photos of the Corvette that Never Was

Today, Chevrolet officially pulled the sheet off of the 2019 Corvette ZR 1 , the most powerful ‘Vette ever produced. Confirming what was revealed in the latest issue of Car and Driver this week, the monster machine advances Corvette ’s supercharging legacy with a 6.2-liter V8 that produces 755 horsepower

The 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR 1 is an impressive piece -- the 755 - hp LT5 V8 might not have dual-overhead camshafts, but it still manages to make incredible power. More importantly, it’s stuffed with

Chevrolet is offering the ZR1 with two aerodynamic packages. The Low Wing gives more top speed and boosts downforce by 70 percent from the base Z06. The High Wing is adjustable for maximum downforce. It offers up to 432 kg of downforce at speed.

The High Wing comes with the ZTK Performance Package. The track-ready package offers a front splitter with carbon end caps, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 semi-slick tires, revised suspension settings, and a different calibration for the magnetic shocks that improves cornering grip.

The ZR1 will offer amazing performance but retains driver comforts inside. Like leather seats with suede microfiber inserts. Nappa leather seats with heat and cooling are also on the options list. And where else will you see a carbon-fibre steering wheel, performance data recorder, and Bose audio on the same options list?

The 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 will go on sale in the spring.
