The controversial former judge who asked why a woman didn’t keep her knees together to prevent an alleged rape wants to practise law again in Alberta . The Law Society of Alberta has scheduled a reinstatement hearing for Robin Camp later this month.

A former judge who resigned over his treatment of a sexual assault complainant is to make his case today for why he should be allowed to practise law again.

The Law Society of Alberta is to hold a day-long reinstatement hearing for Robin Camp in Calgary.

Camp stepped down from Federal Court in March following a Canadian Judicial Council recommendation that he be removed from the bench.

Court transcripts from the 2014 sexual assault trial show that Camp — a provincial court judge in Calgary at the time — called the complainant "the accused" numerous times.

Camp found the accused, Alexander Wagar, not guilty, but the Appeal Court ordered a new trial that resulted in him being acquitted for a second time.

A woman says she feels “violated” by the regulator trying to discipline a Toronto doctor accused of sexually abusing her.The woman, who can only be identified as Patient A due to a publication ban, has been refusing to testify at the discipline hearing at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario for Dr. Suganthan Kayilasanathan.She has retained her own lawyer, Neil Perrier, who is asking a panel of the college's discipline committee to quash what is known as a summons — a document that was served on Patient A indicating she has a legal obligation to testify at the discipline hearing, which is currently on hold.
