Rescuers have found two men who failed to return from snowmobiling Saturday afternoon near Revelstoke, B.C. a city located approximately 650 kilometres northeast of Vancouver.

RCMP said Taylor Dumonceaux and Andrew Macleod, both 24 and from Kelowna, B.C. were found cold, but in good health on the mountain Sunday at about 1 p.m. PT.

Police said Revelstoke Search and Rescue would transport the two men off the mountain in a utility vehicle.

They said rescuers searched for the pair for five hours overnight and again for five hours Sunday.

The two men had rented snowmobiles from a local rental company to go sledding on the mountain, a popular snowmobiling destination about four kilometres west of the town of Revelstoke.

Two men, both from Kelowna, rented snowmobiles from a local company Saturday to go sledding on Boulder Mountain but failed to return at the arranged time.

The RCMP were alerted to the fact the two men had failed to return at the arranged time around 4:30 p.m. PT on Saturday and rescuers began searching shortly after.

Their car was still in the parking lot and family had not heard from them.

Police said the two are not experienced sledders, although they had rented a flare kit and avalanche pack. Attempts to locate them through cell phone pings had been unsuccessful.

The temperature on the mountain was around -4 C Sunday and was below freezing overnight Saturday.

Search and rescue teams temporarily shut down snowmobile access to the mountain today to better search the area. RCMP said this has been a successful strategy in the past.
