More than $400,000 in cash, 21 kilograms of methamphetamine and thousands of fentanyl pills were seized following a weeks-long investigation by the Saskatoon Integrated Drug Enforcement Street Team (SIDEST).

Five people are now facing drug- and proceeds of crime-related charges as a result of an investigation that started in April, Saskatoon police said in a news release.

On May 31, members of SIDEST observed “activity consistent with drug trafficking” in the 100 block of Third Avenue South, arresting a 30-year-old man and 33-year-old man during a vehicle stop. Following the initial arrests, police searched an apartment in the 100 block of Third Avenue South and a house in the 600 block of Gillies Way. A 62-year-old man, 33-year-old man and 60-year-old woman were arrested at the Gillies Way home.

Along with meth, approximately 4,400 fentanyl pills and cash, police also seized over 2,400 grams of powdered cocaine and what police described as “significant amounts” of crack cocaine, hash, marijuana and heroin. A cocaine press was also seized out of a vehicle, police said.

All five appeared Monday in Saskatoon provincial court and are scheduled to return to court later this month.
