Hillary Clinton breaks silence on Harvey Weinstein allegations

Hillary Clinton breaks silence on Harvey Weinstein allegations Hillary Clinton is breaking her silence on all those sexual assault allegations against Harvey Weinstein. On the heels of blistering reports by The New Yorker and The New York Times with numerous actresses coming forward with reports of harassment, assaults and even rape, the former Democratic presidential contender released this statement via her communications director: Statement from Secretary Clinton on Harvey Weinstein: pic.twitter.com/L1l2wl9l0I— Nick Merrill (@NickMerrill) October 10, 2017 Weinstein was fired two days ago by the board of directors of The Weinstein Company after an initial round of reports accused him of harassment and assault. New reports have been published Tuesday against Weinstein containing on-the-record allegations from stars such as Angelina Jolie, Gwenyth Paltrow, Rosanna Arquette, Mira Sorvino, and several others. Weinstein is a longtime supporter of the Clintons and hosted a series of fundraisers for Clinton and former president Obama over the years, along with contributing to many other Democratic candidates. Former First Lady Michelle Obama once said of Weinstein, “I want to start by thanking Harvey Weinstein for organizing this amazing day. Harvey. This is possible because of Harvey. He is a wonderful human being, a good friend and just a powerhouse.” This article was originally published on EW.

"I believe a man shouldn't be condemned by a vigilante system. It's not easy what he's going through either," the "Platoon" director said Thursday at the Busan International Film Festival while addressing international media.

"He was a rival and I never did business with him," Stone continued "I've heard horror stories on everyone in the business. So, I'm not going to comment on that. I'll wait and see, which is the right thing to do."

While his comments appear neutral in nature, they didn't sit well with many people on Twitter, with former Playboy Playmate Carrie Stevens saying: "When I heard about Harvey, I recalled Oliver walking past me & grabbing my boob as he walked out the front door of a party. Two of a kind!"

"F-- you, Oliver Stone," film writer and producer Scott Weinberg‏ bluntly tweeted.

Seth MacFarlane Joked About Harvey Weinstein’s Reputation On Live TV In 2013

Seth MacFarlane Joked About Harvey Weinstein’s Reputation On Live TV In 2013 Just an off-color joke or another sign that film producer Harvey Weinstein’s alleged history of sexual harassment was an open secret in Hollywood? Although Seth MacFarlane’s 2013 gig as host of the Oscars was criticized for a slew of off-color jokes, one moment from the announcement of the nominations stands out in hindsight. He and actress Emma Stone had just introduced the nominees for best-supporting actress when MacFarlane quipped: “Congratulations, you five ladies no longer have to pretend to be attracted to Harvey Weinstein.

"Oliver Stone has issues with women? But I've seen all of his films and oh wait that's right I'm not surprised at all duh," another Twitter user wrote.

Since last week's New York Times article on Weinstein, A-list actresses -- including Miramax's brightest star Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, Heather Graham, Lea Seydoux and many more -- have come forward with allegations of sexual misconduct.

Top executives like Jeffrey Katzenberg and UTA's Jeremy Zimmer have condemned the mogul in internal memos and emails.

Quentin Tarantino knew about Harvey Weinstein’s alleged assault .
Decades too late, Quentin Tarantino says he wishes he had done more to stop Harvey Weinstein. The legendary director, who worked with Weinstein on movies including “Reservoir Dogs,” “Pulp Fiction” and “The Hateful Eight,” told the New York Times Thursday that he “knew enough to do more than I did” about the allegations of sexual harassment and assault against the disgraced producer.
