As for the groping claims, Schlondorff says he never witnessed anything.

"He was teasing the young, nervous interns, mostly to make them feel included on the set, treating them as equals to all the senior technicians," the German filmmaker alleged.

Schlondorff also claims to remember Hunter, saying she kept a diary of her time on set by mailing constant letters to her sister.

"She had a self-assured, playful way herself," Schlondorff said to The Hollywood Reporter. "If [Dustin] knew that she would be upset when he was teasing her, he wouldn't have done it."

Hoffman, now 80, issued a statement in the form of an apology after the accusations were made.

After Hunter came forward, another woman named Wendy Riss Gatsiounis, a screenwriter and producer of "Genius," described her own sexual harassment experience with Hoffman to Variety.

Riss Gatsiounis claimed that Hoffman had asked her if she had "ever been intimate with a man over 40" during a pitch meeting as he pointed to his body. She also claims he repeatedly asked her to join him at a nearby hotel and then left the room when she declined.
