Mel C - who, along with Victoria Beckham, previously shunned attempts by Geri Horner, Mel B and Emma Bunton to get the group back together - is said to have been instrumental in getting all her bandmates to reform for a one-off documentary and a new compilation album following months of negotiations.

A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "The five of them have been locked in secret talks since the summer, and finally they are all on-board for a 2018 reunion.

"As it stands, they will be working together on a series of projects, which will include an album and a TV special celebrating the Spice Girls.

Canada’s Charest is working to encourage girls to play sports

Canada’s Charest is working to encourage girls to play sports If not for a no-girls rule, Isabelle Charest might have ended up shooting pucks instead of skating in circles. Canada’s chef de mission for the Pyeongchang Olympics followed her older sister Nathalie into speedskating. Nathalie had her mind set on hockey, but growing up in the eastern Quebec city of Rimouski, a half a day’s drive from Montreal, "this little city did not allow a girl to play hockey," Isabelle said. Lucky for speedskating.

Spice Girls 'set to reunite for huge world tour to celebrate the girl group's 20th anniversary WITHOUT Victoria Beckham'. Just last week Melanie Brown, who has carved out a successful career as a TV talent show judge since her days as Scary Spice , insisted the band would 'do something to celebrate'

The Spice Girls show has a mother and daughter story at its heart Nicole Kidman, 50, reveals her VERY taut visage as she steps out for TV appearance in New York On The Late Show . with all three older brothers Brooklyn, 18, Romeo, 15, and Cruz, 12, as they reunite in LA for lunch with dad David.

"And getting Victoria to agree has been a coup for everyone involved, given she has always been the person holding back on a reunion.

"The fact she is on board now is down to how much closer the five of them have become recently."

The 'Wannabe' hitmakers have grown closer this year in the wake of Mel B's bitter split from husband Stephen Belafonte - which saw her accuse him of being abusive and getting their nanny pregnant - in March, with Geri's baby son Monty, now 11 months, also said to have been a "uniting force".

The source added: "Things between them were quite icy at the start of the year.

"But gradually the ice thawed, and Mel was the one who drove that. Mel's divorce battle also helped to bring them back together, as did the birth of Geri's son.

'All we have is hope': Mixed emotions as inquiry community hearings start in Edmonton

'All we have is hope': Mixed emotions as inquiry community hearings start in Edmonton For seven years, ever since his sister Amber went missing, Paul Tuccaro has been waiting for answers. As he stands before the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls this week in Edmonton, he’s hoping he’ll find some at last. The inquiry’s chief commissioner Marion Buller and commissioner Brian Eyolfson are attending community hearings in Edmonton from Nov. 7-9, with more than 40 family members and survivors registered to share their stories. There will be some community hearings open to the public, while others will be private. Amber, originally from the Mikisew Cree First Nation, was last seen in Nisku on Aug. 18, 2010, and her remains were found in the same area two years later. “I’m looking forward to it because I’m the type of person who sits at home late at night, reading all the stuff I can, reflecting back on my sister’s case,” Tuccaro said. “I’m going to ask these commissioners point blank … what’s going to happen here? How many times do I have to share her story over and over?” The commission’s stated mandate is to examine and report on the systemic causes of violence against Indigenous women and girls, as well as policies implemented in response to the more than 1,200 Indigenous women and girls that have gone missing or been murdered in Canada since 1980. Many of the speakers are experiencing frustration and anxiety leading up to the hearings. In Tuccaro’s case, he’s confused about how the process will unfold.

Spice Girls fans rejoice. All five band members are reportedly reforming next year for a TV special and hits album. After much back and forth over a 20th anniversary reunion , it's been claimed the girl band will be getting back together for the projects in 2018.

!It is not easy to get them all in the same place at the same time.

"But the team behind the reunion are delighted to have made it to this point."

The group are working with their former manager Simon Fuller on the reunion plans.

Geri, 45, recently teased that "bits and bobs" with the rest of the group were still being planned, after she gave up attempted for a reunion to mark their 20th anniversary.

She said: "I really pushed to get everyone back together. It got to the point where I just had to let it go.

"I still love the girls and there are other bits and bobs in the pipeline."
