Sam Smith might only be 25 years old, but he's already planned his own funeral.

The Too Good At Goodbyes singer is known for his sombre music, which frequently soundtracks people's funerals. But when it comes to his own send-off, Sam has a more upbeat plan.

When Tommy Little, the host of Australian TV show The Project, asked Sam if having his own music at his funeral would be too emotional for those there, the star laughed that he would "wake up" from his coffin if any of his tunes were played.

"My funeral is going to be disco music, I've already planned my funeral; it's going to be fabulous," Sam smiled. And when asked to divulge more information about the occasion, Sam cited the programme's 6.30pm time slot as the reason he wouldn't go into too much detail.

"No," Sam laughed. "It's actually quite explicit, but there's going to be a lot of drag queens, a lot of drag queens."

Sam has become a household name thanks to his music, which includes recent record The Thrill of It All. His catchy tunes have also attracted a host of celebrity fans, with Sam admitting he's often stunned when he catches sight of famous faces in the audience at his gigs.

"Have you ever looked out and seen people and just gone, 'I can't believe this person is in my audience?'" Tommy asked Sam, to which he replied: "A few times, definitely a few times. Seeing Kim K (Kardashian) at my show was quite weird."

Another celebrity fan who stunned Sam was disco queen Chaka Khan, who gave Sam a gift when she came to see him perform in Los Angeles.

"Chaka Khan, oh my God I freaked out," Sam gushed. "I was in LA and she gave me this fan that had 'Chaka' and diamonds on it. It was incredible."
