New details of George Lucas' unused take on Star Wars Episode VII through to IX have come to light...

It’s well known that George Lucas, has he not sold his company to Disney, had plans for more Star Wars stories. That he had a sequel trilogy idea, one that he told Lucasfilm’s new team, but that they opted not to follow-up on and went their own way instead.

Where Lucas’ story would have gone has thus far been kept pretty much under wraps. But an eagle-eyed Twitter user, Livio Ramdondelli, has spotted real clues in the companion book for the TV show James Cameron’s Story Of Science Fiction (that's playing on AMC in the US).

'Star Wars' Actress Kelly Marie Tran Leaves Social Media Following Months of Harassment Tran is not the first 'Star Wars' actress to leave social media due to abuse. Daisy Ridley, who plays Rey in the new installments, deleted her account in 2016 after facing criticism after she posted on gun control. In an interview with Glamour in early December, Ridley said, "I posted a thing about gun regulations, because I was at an event in tribute to the Orlando shooting at Pulse. People weren't nice about how I looked. And I was like, 'I'm out.' Simple as that. That is not what I signed up for.

(Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP) In that book, Lucas states that in his take on the next three Star Wars films – Episodes VII to IX – they “were going to get into a microbiotic world. But there’s this world of creatures that operate differently than we do. I call them the Whills. And the Whills are the ones who actually control the universe. They feed off the Force”.

Lucas, though, added that he could have done the films “if I’d held onto the company”, but added that “of course, a lot of the fans would have hated it, just like they did Phantom Menace and everything, but at least the whole story from beginning to end would be told”.

NBA Free Agency Rumors: LeBron James, Paul George will talk about teaming up on Lakers, per Woj

NBA Free Agency Rumors: LeBron James, Paul George will talk about teaming up on Lakers, per Woj This is what the Lakers cleared all this cap space for — just in case LeBron James wants to team up with another superstar, like Paul George. When Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka made the D’Angelo Russell trade it was with one goal in mind: To make themselves available in case LeBron James and/or another superstar wanted to team up with their Los Angeles Lakers. Well, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, this could very well play out in the coming months. Here’s how he puts it: “The most intriguing scenario remains him partnering with LeBron James on Los Angeles because Paul George alone doesn’t make them a championship contender, but partnering with LeBron there’s a fairly easy pathway for the Lakers to get that salary cap space. That’s going to be a conversation or conversations those guys are going to have once we get toward July.” Frankly, George and LeBron have probably had a conversation like this already. I have beachfront property in Arizona to sell anyone who honestly believes players wait until the end of their final season under contract to start figuring out who they want to play with and how best to make that happen. This is no different. George’s season in Oklahoma City did not live up to his or fans’ expectations. A team with an MVP, another star and a fading one like Carmelo Anthony had higher aspirations than a first-round exit at the hand of the Utah Jazz.

Star Wars creator George Lucas has admitted that fans would’ve hated his plans for a sequel trilogy. Ultimately, audiences will never know how Lucas ’ third trilogy would’ve fared. As it stands, there is still one more chapter of the Disney trilogy when J.J. Abrams brings Episode IX to theaters

Lucas no longer has any direct creative input into the Star Wars films, although he has been around them. Ron Howard, for instance, told the Kermode & Mayo Film Review Programme the other week that Lucas was on the set of Solo one day, and helped Howard get a small detail about Han Solo right.

Still, the full story of Lucas’ Star Wars sequels remains likely to be untold. Whills and all…
