Charlotte Rae, who starred as Edna Garret on the classic '70s and '80s sitcoms "Diff'rent Stroke" and "The Facts of Life", has died at age 92.

A rep told ET Canada that the Tony and Emmy nominated passed away surrounded by family at her Los Angeles home on Sunday.

Last year it was reported that Rae had been diagnosed with bone cancer.

"I have to make up my mind. I’m not in any pain right now," she said at the time. "I’m feeling so terrific and so glad to be above ground. Now I have to figure out whether I want to go have treatment again to opt for life. I love life. I’ve had a wonderful one already. I have this decision to make."

"I’ve had a great life, but I have so many wonderful things happening. I’d like to choose life. I’m grateful for the life I’ve already had," she added about her decision to go through treatment for the cancer.

Rae, whose full name was Charlotte Rae Lubotsky, began her path to stardom at 16 on the radio and at the Wauwatosa Children's Theatre.

Her career spanned more than 60 years, with appearances on stage, classic TV series like "Playhouse 90" and more.

Charlotte is survived by her sister, Miriam Guten as well as son, Larry, and their grandchildren.
