LeBron: Dennis Smith Jr. comments 'definitely a shot at' Phil Jackson

LeBron: Dennis Smith Jr. comments 'definitely a shot at' Phil Jackson LeBron James attempted to clarify his comments about Dennis Smith Jr. and Frank Ntilikina Monday, and found a new way to slam Phil Jackson. James, who opined Saturday that the New York Knicks should have chosen Smith over Ntilikina in June's draft, was asked by reporters if his comments were a slight at former team president Phil Jackson."Oh yeah it was definitely a shot at him, that's for sure," James said with a grin after a shootaround in New York, via Cleveland.com.LeBron has appeared to hold a public grudge against Jackson ever since the former coach and executive referred to James' business partners last year as a "posse.

Enes Kanter responded to LeBron James comments about Dennis Smith and the Knicks. Kanter is involved in this specific situation mostly by circumstance after getting traded to New York as part of the Carmelo Anthony trade.

Knicks' Porzingis: 'I believe that we are a playoff team'

Knicks' Porzingis: 'I believe that we are a playoff team' Kristaps Porzingis is ready to carry the New York Knicks back to the promised land. The 7-foot-3 power forward has led the Knicks to a 7-6 mark - good for sixth in the Eastern Conference - and though it's still early in the campaign, he believes his squad is for real. "I'm happy with the way that we're competing and I believe that we are a playoff team," he said Tuesday on "The Michael Kay Show."The Knicks boast the eighth-ranked offence thanks to their efficient scoring, ball movement, and work on the offensive glass. But it's their improvement at the other end that has Porzingis giddy.

LeBron James caused quite a stir lately when he spoke about the New York Knicks passing up on Dennis Smith Jr. with the eighth overall pick in this year’s draft. The Cleveland Cavaliers star thinks that the Dallas Mavericks rookie is a really good player and should’ve ended up representing the Knicks

Enes Kanter responded to LeBron James questioning the New York Knicks selecting Frank Ntilikina ahead of Dennis Smith Jr. — Enes Kanter (@ Enes _ Kanter ) November 12, 2017. Kanter should be happy with what he’s got with Frank.

The beef between LeBron James and Enes Kanter might be the most exciting storyline in the NBA to develop this month.

Things go back to the weekend when James jabbed the Knicks while complimenting Mavericks rookie Dennis Smith Jr. James had said that the Knicks made a mistake by skipping over Smith and taking Frank Ntilikina at No. 8 overall in the draft. Kanter came to the defense of his Knicks teammate in response to LeBron.

Then during Monday’s game between the Knicks and Cavaliers, Kanter got in James’ face in the first quarter while standing up for Ntilikina.

The fireworks continued in the postgame show. Kanter came out firing about his scuffle with James, saying he wouldn’t let the former NBA MVP punk his team.

James was informed of Kanter’s comments and responded.

Kanter isn’t about to let LeBron get away with anything, which has to be respected. But clearly James is shrugging things off and doesn’t seem to be bothered by a player who’s not really on his level of play.
