Chantelle Eberle of Regina and Robyn Silvernagle of North Battleford were tied for the lead after Thursday’s afternoon draw at the provincial Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Melfort.

Eberle and Silvernagle had 4-1 records heading into their evening matches at the Saskatchewan women’s curling championship.

Candace Chisholm of Carlyle and the defending champion, Penny Barker of Moose Jaw, were next in line at 3-2. Saskatoon’s Stefanie Lawton was 3-3.

The Scotties continues until Sunday.

The U of R and Mount Royal basketball teams are to meet on Friday and Saturday at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health and Sport. Games are set for 6 p.m. (women) and 8 p.m. (men), both nights.

In men’s hockey, Mount Royal is to play the U of R on Friday (7 p.m.) and Saturday (3 p.m.) at the Co-operators Centre.

Also, the women’s hockey team will be in Calgary for games against Mount Royal on Friday and Saturday.

The U of R’s men’s and women’s volleyball teams are to oppose the University of Saskatchewan Huskies on Friday and Saturday in Saskatoon.
