There was no penalty on the initial play although Vesey was bleeding and had to leave the game.

Lately, MMA has seen a surge of fighters coming out of retirement to make a final run in the sport both in the UFC and Bellator. Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell has been in the news lately regarding comments made by his coach John Hackleman about the possibility of a comeback fight.

Don't call it a comeback - at least not yet.

Long-retired ex-UFC light heavyweight champ Chuck Liddell has repeatedly teased a return to the cage of late, and after being promptly voted off the latest season of "Celebrity Big Brother," he told TMZ Sports on Monday he's been training regularly in case the right opportunity arises.

"It’s still a possibility, for sure," Liddell said. "So I didn’t want to get too far out of shape. I was in there boxing the whole time. There’s a lot of stuff that they didn’t show but I was just having a good time in there and staying in shape. I’m staying ready."

As for who he'd like to square off with in a would-be comeback, the 48-year-old mentioned a pair of rivals and UFC alumni in Chael Sonnen and two-time conquest Tito Ortiz. Sonnen now competes under the Bellator banner, while Ortiz retired in January of last year.

Report: Gronkowski considering retirement, switch to acting

Report: Gronkowski considering retirement, switch to acting Coming off a Super Bowl LII loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in which he caught 9 of 15 targets for 116 yards and two touchdowns, Rob Gronkowski may be weighing a career change. The oft-injured Patriots tight end is reportedly considering retirement from football in order to pursue an acting career, a source told Bill Burt of the Eagle Tribune. He suffered a concussion in the AFC Championship Game, though returned in time for the Super Bowl, and apparently told friends that his injuries have taken a toll.

However, he has not ruled out coming out of retirement to fight in the Octagon again. So far, there is still no confirmation from the UFC whether Chuck Liddell will really fight again or stay retired . TV Ryan Paevey Addresses ‘General Hospital’ Departure, Possibility Of Returning As Nathan West

“It’s still a possibility for sure,” Liddell told TMZ. There are still a few fights Liddell wouldn’t mind having if he was able to reach an agreement to come out of retirement and judging by the matchups that would mean that Bellator MMA would have to be the promotion showing interest in him.

"I’ve said it before in the news, Chael would be a good warm-up fight to get back into it. Tito would be great if he’d even consider fighting me. I hear he wouldn’t. He doesn’t want to fight me at all. He’ll fight other people but not me, of course.

"It depends on who they offer. I’m down for just about anything."

Liddell claimed the UFC's light heavyweight crown with a KO of Randy Couture in April 2005 and defended it four times. He hung up his gloves in late 2010 after suffering his third straight knockout loss in a dance with Rich Franklin at UFC 115.
