Ice storm forces Maple Leafs to pull plug on party outside ACC tonight The Maple Leafs have cancelled the viewing party at Maple Leaf Square for tonight’s playoff game between Toronto and the Boston Bruins because of the nasty weather outside.“Due to dangerous conditions following the ice storm in Toronto this weekend, and with the safety of our fans in mind, the fan tailgate party in Maple Leaf Square for tonight’s playoff game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins has been cancelled,” the Leafs said in a statement Monday morning. The team is urging fans with tickets to the game to take public transit if possible.

According to one report, the Bruins are working towards a deal for New York Rangers forward Rick Nash . The Bruins lost three out of their four games against the Leafs this season, and all three of those defeats came with young superstar Auston Matthews injured and out of the lineup for Toronto.

Boston Bruins forward Rick Nash will play in Game 1 against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday, head coach Bruce Cassidy confirmed.

The Bruins acquired Nash prior to the trade deadline, but he hasn't played since March 17 due to a concussion. In his 11 games with Boston, he collected three goals and three assists.

Nash's return means rookie Ryan Donato will be a healthy scratch. Since joining the team late in the season, the 22-year-old collected five goals and four assists in 12 games.

The 33-year-old Nash has 15 goals and 41 points in 77 career playoff games as he begins the quest for his first Stanley Cup.

Bruins know they have to stop Leafs from stretching their wings .
The Boston Bruins vowed Tuesday to focus harder on the Leafs’ strategic weapon — the odd-man rush sprung from the stretch pass. The Leafs, the Bruins said, are the one team in the NHL that features the stretch pass regularly, and excels at it despite the risks involved.“They play that style where they want to counter you with their speed,” Bruins defenceman Charlie McAvoy said Tuesday. “You have to keep five (of your) guys in front of them all the time. They’ll go for those chances … they cheat the game a little, but that’s their style, they’ll do it to you all the time.
