NHL linesman Steve Barton had to leave the ice on a stretcher Tuesday night after he fell and hit his head hard during an accidental collision early in a Columbus Blue Jackets-Edmonton Oilers game .

Longtime linseman Steve Barton left Sunday's game between the Minnesota Wild and Winnipeg Jets after an awkward fall left him with an apparent knee injury:

A stretcher was brought out to help Barton off the ice, but he was able to get to the locker room with the assistance of players.

Injuries have become far too frequent of an occurrence for Barton, who was hospitalized last month following a collision with Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid.
