LeBron: 'Pick your spots' to rest in games

LeBron: 'Pick your spots' to rest in games For the first time in LeBron James' 15-year career, he played all 82 regular-season games, while averaging an NBA-high 36.9 minutes per game. It's an accomplishment only one player in their 15th season or later has completed: a 39-year old Michael Jordan playing his awkward final season with the Washington Wizards. Though, Jordan's 37-45 Wizards didn't have to worry about the stress of a competitive postseason run.

The reported trade would also include Tristan Thompson and the Brooklyn Nets pick, for DeAndre Jordan , Lou Williams and With the Cavs lacking a sold rim protector, LeBron James has been vocal about the team acquiring DeAndre from Los Angeles. LeBron really wants DeAndre Jordan .

The Cleveland Cavaliers are up against the wall heading into Game 3 of their Eastern Conference Finals matchup against the Boston Celtics this coming Saturday. Having been blown out in the first two games of the series, it certainly doesn’t look like Cleveland has the capability of competing against Boston moving forward.

Only time will tell on that front.

Talks between those two teams have reached something of an impasse, however, as Hill is reportedly reluctant to agree to a buyout on his remaining contract should LeBron James decide to leave Cleveland this summer. DeAndre Jordan is another player Cleveland has had their eye on

DeAndre Jordan , Cavs reportedly have mutual interest. Fox Sports’ Skip Bayless reports that Jordan is willing to go to the Cavs to play with LeBron James . In order to facilitate a trade , Cleveland may need to find a third team for the Clippers to get the pieces that they want .

But as an era of contending basketball in Cleveland potentially comes to an end here soon, we’re starting to hear a bit more about the dynamics behind the scenes.

According to Jason Lloyd of The Athletic, this includes the idea that both head coach Tyronn Lue and star forward LeBron James wanted the Cavaliers to make a deal for Los Angeles Clippers big man DeAndre Jordan during February’s trade deadline.

“Now, however, they can no longer say they’re ‘All-In.’ They cannot say they did whatever they could to keep LeBron here this time,” Lloyd reported. “Doing whatever they could to keep him would’ve meant dealing for DeAndre Jordan at the trade deadline, the rim-protecting center Lue coveted and James equally wanted badly. Instead, the Cavs hedged, collecting a group of twenty-somethings that can grow together in the event James is off to Houston or Philadelphia or Los Angeles or some other contender next season.”

The Cavs are going to need to put better assets on the table if they really want to complete a trade for DeAndre Jordan . With LeBron James ’ free agency looming, Cleveland’s front office is under immense pressure to make moves to improve the Cavs’ roster in a span of four days.

The Cavs’ weaknesses explain their reported interest in Kings point guard George Hill and Clippers center DeAndre Jordan . The Unknown Options. Hornets point guard Kemba Walker, who is reportedly now on the trade block, is perhaps a No one wants to lose LeBron , for obvious reasons.

Linked to Jordan in the lead up to the trade deadline, it makes sense that this might be leaked right now. It seems that there might be a rift between LeBron James and those in the Cavaliers’ organization tasked with making sure the team is in decent shape should James actually depart in free agency this summer.

To be clear: Cavaliers GM Koby Altman isn’t really in the wrong here. By adding the likes of Jordan Clarkson, Larry Nance Jr. and Rodney Hood to the mix, Cleveland picked up pieces that could play a role moving forward. Jordan can opt out of his contract and become a free agent this summer.

The split here is real. James wanted to sacrifice long term for the potential to contend over the short term. The same can be said about a head coach in Lue who is clearly on the hot seat. It will certainly be something to look at should Cleveland find itself eliminated from title contention by Boston.

LeBron dismisses fatigue suggestions following Game 5 loss .
LeBron James has proven indefatigable and his approach hasn't changed despite his Cleveland Cavaliers trailing 3-2 to the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference finals. James recorded 26 points on 11-of-22 shooting, adding 10 rebounds and five assists, but the Cavaliers still faltered Wednesday, losing Game 5 96-83.
