Report: Kawhi's camp hid him from Spurs staff during attempted meeting What lengths did Kawhi Leonard go to while avoiding the San Antonio Spurs during the tension-riddled 2017-18 season? The disgruntled star's inner circle reportedly hid the two-time Defensive Player of the Year when team staff attempted to meet with him in New York City. "There was a point during his rehab process in New York that some of the Spurs brass went out to see him in New York. This in no way suggests that the Raptors have become a realistic destination for Leonard.

It doesn't help that the 27-year-old reportedly has no interest in re-signing with any team in the Eastern Conference, besides the Philadelphia 76ers, when he becomes a free agent next summer, ESPN's Chris Haynes said on "The Jump."

However, after getting swept by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the playoffs last season, it would be a bold move for the Raptors to land one of the league's best players. It could cost them either Kyle Lowry or DeMar DeRozan in the process, but it's certainly an easy path to get people talking about Toronto again - especially in the LeBron-less East.
