The Real Likelihood You’re Being Watched Through Your Laptop Camera

The Real Likelihood You’re Being Watched Through Your Laptop Camera Photo: loginovworkshop/Shutterstock Should You Cover Your Laptop Camera? In our tech-driven world, it’s now obvious that our privacy can be easily compromised. If hackers can penetrate the White House, they can likely crack our personal devices. And yet we still use our phones, laptops, tablets, and more, as if that threat doesn’t exist. But can we really afford to ignore it? (Here are five ways to prevent identity theft at the office.) If you have a modern device capable of getting online, chances are that it has a camera. And if so, there’s a probability that someone is looking for money or a glance at your intimate moments. Such driving factors have made way for a thriving black market for compromised webcams and the videos or photos they can produce. That’s why you may have heard the suggestion to protect yourself by taping over your computer camera and other devices with cameras. (Avoid posting these seven photos on social media.) The tip is not based simply on paranoia. In 2014, the FBI ran its largest cyber operation to date, in which scores of webcam hackers in more than 12 countries were arrested. The program, called Blackshades, gave users access to “photographs and other files on the victim’s computer and a record all of the keystrokes entered on the victim’s keyboard,” according to a report. It allowed them to steal passwords to the victims’ online accounts, and even activate the victim’s web camera to spy on them, all in secret.

However, the company has now reportedly started rolling out the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update for the smartphone. In terms of optics, the smartphone comes with an 8 -megapixel camera on both the front and back sides. The Nokia 3 packs a 2650mAh battery and measures 143.4x71.4x 8 .4mm.

New images tip the Nokia 8 to sport a bezel-less design. It is also tipped to sport an iris scanner. The smartphone is expected to feature a 5 .3-inch QHD display, will be powered by the The smartphone will sport a 13-megapixel dual camera setup at the back and a 13-megapixel front camera as well.

As per the sources cited by the news outlet, the Nokia 8 Pro is equipped with five back cameras encased in a rotating module. The penta-lens camera module is rumored to be made possible thanks to German optical systems manufacturer Carl Zeiss.

The mention of a rotating piece clearly means that not all five lenses will work together in taking a single shot. The five lenses could have different focal lengths and apertures, so the Nokia 8 Pro could be used in taking wonderful photos in various situations. Phone Arena surmises that there could be a lens for wide-angle photography, another one for extremely low-light environments, and so on.

The inclusion of a rotating penta-lens back camera system would surely be intriguing to consumers. This could possibly attract sufficient attention in order for the Samsung Galaxy S9 rival to do well on the market. It could also become a signature feature of a series that will start with the release of the Nokia 8 Pro.
